A world record for Arc International - 1 billion balloon glasses sold
Arc International, world leader in tableware is proud to announce that it has produced its
billionth balloon glass. 50 years after its creation in Arques (French Pas-de-Calais region) by the Group’s R&D teams, the balloon glass enters glass making history. The balloon glass was created in 1958. As a French technological revolution to serve the industry, it was the first automated stem glass thanks to a machine especially designed to seal the various parts manufactured separately (rim, parison, stem).
Until then, stem glasses were manually made at a high cost. At the time, wine was mainly served in tumblers.
With different capacities of 12, 15, 19 and 25 cl, the balloon glass quickly became a best seller. Bistros, restaurants, institutions and households alike started to use the glass. « New product developments come at the crossroad of customer request and technological knowhow. As for the balloon glass, the customer request came from the food service industry», explains Patrick Gournay, Chairman of the Board, Arc International. The first balloon stem glasses were consequently distributed in bistros and restaurants. In
the 60s, with the development of department stores and superstores, the glass became available for end consumers.
Since 1971, the balloon glass has been a continuing success story. Each year, between 15
and 30 millions of glasses are being sold. There is more than one balloon glass sold in the world every second.

Post-release of II International Exhibition of TableWare Industry TABLEWARE and II International Exhibition of Gifts & Decor WORLD OF GIFTS
In the period from February 28 up to March 1 2008 in Kiev in the International Exhibition Center PARUS Expo Media Ltd. successfully held II International exhibition of tableware industry TABLEWARE and II International exhibition of gifts and decor WORLD OF GIFTS. More than 120 companies from Austria, Belarus, Italy, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine took part in mentioned exhibitions. General quantity of visitors amounted to 9 982.

TableWare and World of Gifts have been held under the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, Kiev Region State Administration and Messe Frankfurt. Röndell GmbH has been the sponsor of TableWare exhibition and POSUDA magazine - its General Information Partner.

TableWare and World of Gifts are the unique exhibition projects at the Ukrainian market which combined two business formats: traditional exhibition and organized business meetings.

The following salons have been presented at the exhibitions: KUCHINA / Kitchenware, SERVIRA / Tableware, PRESENTA / Gifts Tableware, HoReCa / Professional Tableware, DOMESTICA / Houseware, GIFTS, DECOR, CHRISTMAS AND FESTIVITY DECORATIONS

The distinguish feature of the exhibitions, their “know-how” as a business-place, has been the realization of BUYERS PROGRAM, which consisted in purposeful work with companies which buy tableware/houseware for their business, as well as MATCHMAKING PROGRAM - beforehand organized meetings between exhibitors and buyers from all regions of Ukraine. Both programs have been provided for the realization of main tasks of exhibitors and buyers – sales and purchases, via attraction of the biggest buyers of tableware, houseware, gifts and decor markets and organization of their meetings with exhibitors.  The geography of Buyers Program included 95% of the Ukrainian regions: Kiev, Dniepropetrovsk, Zaporozhie, Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk, Ivano-Frankovsk, Lvov, Lutsk, Rovno, Simferopol, Sebastopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Odessa, Chernigov, Cherkassy, Sumy, Zhytomir, Vinnitsa, Uzhgorod, Ternopol, Mariupol, Kirovograd, Krivoy Rog, Poltava, Nikolaev, Chernovtsy, Truskavets, Muachevo.

One of the main central events of TableWare exhibition has become NOVELTIES GALLERY, which demonstrated the new production of Ukrainian and foreign companies: ТМ Röndell – knives set SIGNIFER, accessories WESER, ELEGANZ, flatware set ERNSTA, Ceramiche Viva (Italy) – kitchen ceramic ware of high quality,  Oktiabrskiy Factory of Porcelan Wares (Russia) – series of professional porcelain PRINCE, Tupperware (Russia) – MIRCOPLUS, MINI MAX, kitchen unit «FROM BOSS», Alpari – kitchenware of FALEZ  series, Turkey production.
TREND ZONE, original “future mirror” reflecting main tendencies and trends of tableware, kitchenware, gifts and decor markets for 2008, has become the “salt” of the exhibitions.  It has been made in four thematic directions:
1. CONTRADICTION = polarity + duality + rejection + addition + monochromity + contrast + interpretation + echo + shadow =   REFLECTION
2. ECOLOGY = comfort + security + naturality + harmony + contemplation + adaptation + attraction + confidence + acceptance = INNOVATIONS
3. METAMORPHOSIS = play + decorations + accents + combinations + fantasies + variety + transformations + improvisation + interference = CONSTANCY
4. RETROSPECTIVE = time + experience + roots + biography + nostalgia + vintage + imitation + fashion = PERSPECTIVE
The Organizer paid a great attention to master-classes, shows and contests’ holding.
DECORATORS CONTEST is worthy to be marked especially. This contests has been made among the exhibitors of World of Gifts exhibition under the theme “Spring in Interior”. Contest’s tasks – demonstration of the last tendencies in the world of interior design, Цель конкурса – продемонстрировать последние тенденции в мире интерьерного дизайна, support of talented professionals in décor sector, as well as presentation of all possibilities’ spectrum for creative and modern decoration of living space. Inna Yurchenko (Teamo company) has become a winner of the contest and has been awarded with a certificate for visiting of the international exhibition MACEF (Milan, Italy).
The final of the I International Contest of Beads Netting Masters “Magic Beads 2008” has been made at the exhibition as well. The last tendencies in the world of beads design, the usage of beads and semi-precious stones for accessories’ production, clothes and interior items; decoration have been demonstrated at it. More than 200 works of 30 masters from Ukraine, Russia and USA have been presented for participation in the contest. Irina Dynnik, master of beads netting, laureate of contest “Beads Stream-2007” (Kiev), has become a winner of the contest.
The prizes presented by RÖNDELL GmbH, ZEPTER and TUPPERWARE have been plaid every day of exhibition holding.

KAHLA: New forms and décors at Internorga 2008
At the international hotel and restaurant fair INTERNORGA in Hamburg from 7th to 12th March 2008, visitors of KAHLA Hotel Porcelain and its partners RONA (glass) and MEPRA (cutlery and tableware) are invited to enter an exciting landscape of table culture. Pot à la Fissler and Harrods: timeless luxury for £100,000
Fissler, the leader on the German market for premium cookware, is setting new standards of luxury with a unique product: a pot adorned with gold and diamonds from Fissler will be presented to the exclusive clientele of the London department store Harrods from the 10th of September until the 20th of October. This true gem will be exclusively produced to order and will cost £100,000.
Technically, the diamond pot is based on a saucepan of 28 cm in diameter from the successful premium series 'original profi collection®' by Fissler. The handles on the lid and sides as well as the name logo are made from almost one kilogram of solid gold (750/yellow gold) and are studded with more than 200 diamonds (TWSI) of varying sizes.
The breathtaking one-off originals will be crafted lovingly by hand in Idar-Oberstein/Germany. This town in Rhineland Palatinate is well-known as the home of Fissler, the international leaders and experts in cookware, and has, for centuries, enjoyed a global reputation in the design of precious stones and jewellery for the most exclusive clientele all around the world.
The product will be presented in accordance with its unusual characteristics: the diamond pot will be showcased at Harrods on a special presentation pedestal made of rootwood. The diamond pot will come complete with a high-class jewellery box made of rootwood. A document and the appropriate quality certificate guarantee additional exclusive quality for the buyer.
With the diamond pot, Fissler will be presenting what is probably the most precious pot in the world. An application for inclusion in the book of Guinness World Records has already been submitted.

Anti-bacteria - The integrated protection factor
